Deputy Director – Field Assessment and Permit Completion

The Juniata County Assessment Department has an opening for a Deputy Director – Field Assessment and Permit Completion. This position is classified as full-time and non-union. Wages are $15.44 per hour with benefits.

Qualifications: High school diploma and preferably a related post-secondary degree. An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Special consideration given for persons with a valid Certified Pennsylvania Evaluator License (CPE). In the absence of a CPE, successful candidate will be required to obtain certification within three years of employment. Knowledge of the real estate market and construction trade in addition to computer proficiency in basic software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access. Must have a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license. Successful candidate must possess a Pennsylvania Criminal History Record Check and Child Abuse History Clearance less than one (1) year old.

Duties and Responsibilities: Collaborate with municipal officials to ensure building permits are obtained for new construction. Identify needed property assessments and ensure that they are scheduled for timely completion. Review building permits, measure, photograph and verbally collect information necessary to formulate an accurate property assessment. Prepare follow-up reports as needed.
