REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) ANNOUNCEMENT
Proposals will be accepted for Professional Information Technology Services for Juniata Valley Behavioral & Developmental Services (JVBDS) located in Lewistown, Pennsylvania.

Proposal specifications may be obtained at the office located 399 Green Avenue Extended, Lewistown, Pennsylvania or via email request to lbollinger@jvbds.org. Proposals will be accepted until 2pm, August 3rd, 2018.

TEMPORARY FULL TIME ID WAIVER SPECIALIST July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019

The Intellectual Disabilities (ID) Waiver Specialist will have the initiative and commitment to assist the Intellectual Disability consumers of Huntingdon-Mifflin-Juniata counties live self-determined lives within their communities by providing quality supports and services.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The ID Waiver Specialist is responsible for managing and supporting waiver funds for authorized individuals, services and providers; as well as to have current knowledge of the social, economic and health problems and resources as it relates to the intellectual disability population. The specialist will use skills and creativity to ensure enrolled individuals receive the necessary services and supports to safeguard their health and welfare while assuring resources are within their funding capacity.

As part of the ID team the specialist will assist with the development of a local provider network to ensure a solid base of supports and providers who are respectful of the wants, needs and abilities of the ID consumers we serve. Additional supports to providers include technical assistance, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of community programs.

The professional value of an ID Waiver Specialist will serve as an outreach to provide guidance and service to the ID population residing in the Huntingdon, Mifflin and Juniata county rural communities. The specialist will participate in a collaboration of community supports for all ID individuals and their families to ensure a successful meaningful life for an ID individual and to facilitate the achievement of self-determination, integration and inclusion in all facets of community life.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Qualifications:

· Must meet PA residency requirement

· Minimum Experience and Training Requirements – One year as a County Mental Retardation Program Specialist 1; OR three years of professional level experience in the field of mental retardation; and a bachelor’s degree; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.

· Must be able to perform essential job functions

County Intellectual Disabilities Program Director

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Intellectual Disabilities (ID) Program Director will establish overall service standards for quality and service proficiency; as well as engaging in training and communication to remain current with system priorities and best practice for the ID community. The director will use skills and creativity while making organizational resources more productive. As the director of an ID team you will be expected to remain interested and engaged with your staff and offer motivational factors that have a dramatic impact on productivity.

The director is responsible for the development of a local provider network to ensure a solid base of supports and providers who are respectful of the wants, needs, and abilities of the ID consumers we serve. The director will ensure the development of a quality strategy to analyze data and work to improve identified outcomes for each individual while maintaining confidentiality and safe guarding each consumer’s record.

Maintenance Technician

The Juniata County Maintenance Department has an opening for a Maintenance Technician. This position is classified as part-time on an “as needed” basis and non-union. Wages are $10.00/hour with no benefits.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED preferably supplemented by additional trade school training or an equivalent combination of training and experience. A valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and basic knowledge of maintenance and repairs including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, carpentry, mechanical and metal working.

Duties and Responsibilities: Assist the Maintenance Director with maintenance, repairs, and improvements throughout the County’s buildings and properties.

Maintenance Technician Job Description


Custodial and Maintenance Worker

The Juniata County Maintenance Department has an opening for a custodial and maintenance employee. This position is classified as full-time and union. Wages are $12.00 / hour with benefits.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED preferably supplemented by additional trade school training or an equivalent combination of training and experience. A valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, a basic knowledge of custodial duties, and the ability to operate a variety of building and grounds maintenance equipment such as saws, drills, lawn mower, snow blower, etc. Must have basic computer knowledge and skills. Successful candidate must possess a Pennsylvania Criminal History Record Check and Child Abuse History Clearance less than one (1) year old.

Duties and Responsibilities: Cleaning and custodial work throughout the County’s buildings and properties. Assist the Maintenance Director with maintenance, repairs, and improvements as needed.
