Directions to the Sheriff’s Office: Take Route 322 to the Mifflintown Exit and travel south on Route 35 approximately 2.2 miles. Turn right at the red light and the Sheriff’s Office is up one block on the left in the Bousum Building.
The Sheriff’s Department is an organization of men and women dedicated to protecting and serving the citizens of Juniata County.
The Sheriff’s Department is comprised of the Sheriff and several full-time and part-time deputies who serve on an as needed basis.
The Sheriff’s Department has many duties and responsibilities which include enforcing the laws of the Pennsylvania Crimes Code, investigating crimes, handling complaints, testifying in court, carrying out court orders and judgments and assisting emergency personnel when needed.
The Sheriff’s Department is especially designed to meet the needs of your county and community by providing speakers for schools, community groups and clubs. We also assist in public education pertaining to substance abuse, bicycle safety and child safety including fingerprinting and identification programs.
The Sheriff is elected for a four-year term of office. The next election for Sheriff will take place in 2021.
