RECORDING/FILING:
The current practice of placing documents to be recorded or filed in the drop off box at the entrance to the Courthouse and sending documents through the mail will continue.
MARRIAGE LICENSE APPLICATIONS:
All applications will be by appointment only. Please contact the office for details.
PROBATES:
All probates will be by appointment only. For now, probates will be processed during a Zoom meeting. Please contact the office for details.
Marriage License Applicants: All applications will need to be completed through the marriage license online application process located on the Juniata County website under Clerk of Orphans’ Court. Applicants will need to schedule an appointment by calling the office at (717)436-7709 to finish the application process. The license will then be mailed or can be picked up at the Register and Recorder’s Office after the three-day waiting period.
Certified Copies of Marriage Licenses: Requests can be made by calling (717)436-7709. Please make arrangements with the Juniata County Register and Recorder’s Office to pick up your certified copy. The office requires the exact amount due of $5.00 when picking up a certified copy of a marriage license. Requests can also be mailed to the Juniata County Register and Recorder’s Office. Mail-in requests are preferred for the safety of our citizens. For mail-in requests please provide the individuals names and date of marriage along with the $5.00 fee and a self-addressed stamped envelope.

The Clerk of Orphans’ Court issues all marriage licenses, handles all adoptions and incapacitated filings, and presents all First and Final Accounts files in the estate to the court for confirmation.
