About Human Services

In 2004 the Mifflin and Juniata County Commissioners entered into an agreement to combine the Human Services Departments for both counties. The Mifflin-Juniata County Human Services Department emerged and is the administering agency for several human service-related grants received by the counties. Some of these include the Human Services Development Fund (HSDF), Homeless Assistance Program (HAP), Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP), The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP), and the State Food Purchase Program (SFPP).

The Mifflin-Juniata County Human Services Department also works with the Departments within the county government on searching and applying for state and federal grant funds.
